Students Celebrate A Level results at Tupton Hall School Sixth Form

The class of 2023 returned to Tupton Hall School, part of  Redhill Academy Trust, to receive their A Level results. Overall, the cohort achieved a brilliant pass rate of 99.4%.

The percentage of A* to A grades was 13.7%, with 44.4% A* to B and 71.6% A* to C; a cause for celebration and joy for the students, their families and staff at the school.

Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Charlotte Burton, said: “It is often forgotten that this cohort of students did not get the opportunity to sit their GCSEs; making their A Level examinations the first external exams this year group has sat since primary school.”

“They did not let this disruption define them though, instead they caught up on lost learning, developed their independence and embraced the challenges of completing new qualifications with requirements to complete coursework, sit multiple exams and demonstrated expertise through practical assignments.”

“It is worth highlighting how hard these students have worked to achieve these results; the time, energy and passion with which they worked was remarkable and it has been a privilege to see the class of 2023 develop into strong, independent young adults, ready for any new challenge that awaits them.”

“We are also delighted to see students secure their dreams of a career on the stage – with students Evie Pullinger, Olivia Gilbert and Jamie Leigh Jones securing places at Italia Conti, BIMM and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts; world renowned industry leaders in creative arts education.”

More than 100 Tupton Hall Sixth Formers are off to Universities through England and Wales to pursue courses in a broad range of subjects such as Law, Social work, Maths, Business and Linguistics. Many students will pursue Apprenticeships in Business, Science, Finance and as an Ambulance Technician; carrying on the school’s success with securing competitive and successful apprenticeship opportunities.

Mr Andrew Knowles, Headteacher of Tupton Hall School, said: “We are delighted for our students. Their diligence and hard work in the Sixth Form has been duly rewarded, particularly considering the difficulties that the pandemic presented for them throughout their GCSE and then A level and equivalent studies. We are all very proud of this wonderful group of individuals who now go on to the next exciting phase of their lives, equipped with the qualifications and confidence to achieve further success. I would like to thank our highly skilled staff and supportive parents and families who have provided great teaching, pastoral care and encouragement for our students throughout this time.”
