Woolly winter warmers were worn by students and staff at Tupton Hall School in Chesterfield to mark the start of Christmas and raise cash for charity.
Woolly jumpers, scarves, hats, gloves and even socks replaced the school uniform on the last day of term in aid of The Den at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
A grand total of £1,115 was collected from classrooms and corridors awash with colour.
The fundraiser was organised in memory of Abbie Jacques, a Year 8 Tupton Hall student who recently passed away.
Abbie’s family suggested that money raised should be donated to The Den in support of children dealing with diabetes.
The charity day was organised by members of the Sixth Form Student Union. Student Union Leader Dominic Bramley said: “We wanted the whole school to come together for this initiative, in the hope we can honour Abbie’s memory by helping others.”
Headteacher Mr Andy Knowles said: “It is a privilege for the school to support The Den at a time of the year when giving, compassion and kindness are at the forefront of our minds.”
