Christmas has come early for one Year 7 student at Tupton Hall School.
Young singer Daisy Hinde has won the chance to play the part of the Snowman in the Carrot Productions performance of The Snowman at The Winding Wheel in Chedterfield.
She will take to the stage on Tuesday 9th December performing alongside a live professional orchestra in front of a film screening of the classic Christmas film.
Daisy was put forward to audition for the part in October by music teacher Miss Wragg, who has been coaching her in school in preparation for the role.
At the auditions she competed against talented youngsters from across Derbyshire. But previous experience performing in other high profile shows clearly gave Daisy the edge.
The 11-year-old has played 'young Fiona' in Shrek the Musical at Leeds Grand Theatre, and also sang on stage with Robbie Williams during his Swing Both Ways concert in Leeds.
Mum Wendy said: "We are so proud of her. She has been into performing since a young age, she just loves it."
The Snowman is at The Winding Wheel in Chesterfield on Tuesday 9th December. performances are at 11am and 1.30pm. Tickets are £5.50. For more details and how to book please click here: The Snowman at The Winding Wheel
