GCSE students journeyed to Alton Towers and the Holderness Coast to boost their understanding of key topics in geography and leisure and tourism.
Year 10 leisure students visited the UK's most popular theme park in Staffordshire. The trip was organised to help them gather information for their year-long controlled assessment project. Students and staff toured the resort, explored the different zones and listened to a talk about marketing.
At the coast, Year 11 geographers learned about coastal erosion. They compared the differences in coastal management between Hornsea and Mappleton. They gathered and assessed the conflicting views of various stakeholders (people with an interest in an area) to support their sustainable decision making exam which is worth 25% of their final grade.
