A synchronised swimming team featuring students from Tupton Hall School have won a bronze medal at a national competition.
The team represented Rykneld Synchronised Swimming Squad at the Swim England Synchro Combo Cup at London Aquatics Centre at the Olympic Park.
And their stunning performance put them in 3rd place out of 20 teams competing from across the country.
The team was made up of Tupton Hall students Mia (team captain) and Frances along with former pupil Rebekah, one student from Highfields School and three girls from St Mary's Catholic High School. Their coach and choreographer Alyssa is also an ex-Tupton Hall student.
Team manager Sharon Hudson said: "We are so proud of this achievement. It was totally unexpected for our little club that has never been to this competition before. We had just gone for the experience."
"We went along hoping for the top half of the scoreboard but didn't think for a minute we would be that high up."
The girls train twice a week in the pool at Sharley Park Leisure Centre and are hoping to build on their success in the future.
