Strictly Not Dancing

Tupton Hall has got the Strictly Fever!

On Thursday students and staff saw teachers from PE, Maths, English and Science take to the Sports Hall dance floor for a spot of ‘Strictly Not Dancing’ to raise funds for the Philippines Typoon Appeal.

Organised by Sixth Form student Izzy, staff were put into training, some for several weeks others had mere days, to practice their dance moves and put their coordination skills to the test. Izzy even managed to encourage Mr Hudson to take up the role of Bruce plus it wouldn’t be ‘Strictly’ without the judges, step forward Mr Sinclair, Mr Crunkhorn and Miss Catlow.

Y12 Dance Group open the show.P.Es routine included lots of acrobatics.

Students and staff gathered to watch the highly entraining show over lunch. The Y12 dance group kicked off the proceedings, showing the teachers how it should be done. PE then stepped up to the floor, followed by Science, English and then Maths, each presenting a very difficult style of dance, some ‘Fab-u-lous’, some ‘just ok’ and others ‘fantastic’!

The Science department had a little help from Rudolf. Whilst English brought a long a few students.

After some tough scores from the judges and a final cheer vote, the Maths faculty were announced as 2013 Strictly Not Dancing Champions and in total Izzy has raised just over £800 for the appeal, a fantastic achievement, well done Izzy!

The judges didn't always agree with the scores.Maths, Strictly Not Dancing Champions 2013!
