Prom Prize

Students in the Tupton Hall School Sixth Form Students' Union have won £5,000 worth of services and entertainment to spend on their Year 13 prom.

Sheffield Hallam University put together a competition asking students to complete a two minute video explaining what their ideas were and what they would do with the money.

The amount of views the video received on Sheffield Hallam's Facebook page was also part of the competition.

In just two weeks the Tupton Hall School Sixth Form Students' Union put together a fantastic video representing their school through the ages from the 1920s.

They conceived, filmed and edited the video with Media Studies students and it received more than 26,000 views.

Competing against eight other schools, Tupton Hall School were deemed the winners.

Media Studies teacher Mr Welch said: "We are proud to report that our video was chosen as the winner and the Sixth Form Student Union now have the nice problem of working with the university in how to spend the money to make the prom truly unforgettable.

"A massive thanks to Sheffield Hallam University in running such a fun competition and to our student union for their enthusiasm and positive attitude.

"A member of staff at Sheffield Hallam commented that the celebratory group hug was 'very touching'."
