Praise for GCSE English work
Wednesday 3 Sep 2014
The exam board, AQA, has given high praise to
Tupton Hall students' controlled assessment work in GCSE English, GCSE English Language and
GCSE English Literature this year.
Here is what they said:
GCSE English Language
"This sample was a pleasure to moderate. Of particular note was
the excellent task setting for Extended Reading which supported students in
receiving deservedly high marks."
"The writing tasks were engaging and well
crafted. The use of small amount of specific data enabled candidates to write
well in the Spoken Language Study. An impressive set of work."
GCSE English Literature
"Candidates had been very well prepared and thoughtfully addressed
all the assessment criteria. A pleasure to moderate."
Head of English Mrs Caroline Spalding said: "Year 11 students should be congratulated on their
hard work throughout the GCSE course."
"All of the marks given by teachers at the school
were upheld by the exam board."
