Ten talented writers and performers pitted their poetry reading skills in front of a packed hall full of students and staff.
The Year 7s were finalists in the annual Tupton Hall Poetry Performance Competition.
Most of the students had written their own poems and performed them with clarity, confidence and character.
The 3 winners of the 'student choice' vote were:
3rd - Mackenzie with 'The Food Fight'
2nd - Frances with 'The Alley'
1st - Evie with 'The School Hall'
Evie also won the judges' prize, awarded by a panel of governors, library staff and teachers from the English department.
