Open cast mining rejected

Open cast mining rejected

It has now been confirmed that the application to allow Open Cast Mining close to our school and local community has been rejected.

The Planning Inspectorate report states that: “Owing to substantial harm in relation to visual effects and noise, the impact of the development on the environment is not capable of being made acceptable.”

The school’s governors objected to the application and along with many other local organisations wrote several letters to share their concerns about the proposal, particularly about the potential impact on the health and well-being of our local children.
