Life Saving Skills

More than 150 students in Year 8 and 9 were trained in basic CPR in order to help them potentially save a life in future.

Resuscitation experts from the Royal Derby Hospital were in school to teach the life-saving skills using special practice dummies called 'Resusci Anne'.

The session was held on 'Restart A Heart Day', a national day of awareness held by the British Heart Foundation.

It is hoped that students will pass on the skills they learned to friends and family to make more people aware of what to do in a medical emergency when someone is not breathing.
