The fun and practical course is open to people aged 16 and above; no previous experience is needed just the desire to deliver sport or physical activity for young people. The new award develops vital leadership skills such as communication, organisation and motivation, whilst instilling the confidence and desire in people to make a difference within their own community.
The Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to independently lead small groups of people in sport and recreational activities.
The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation,planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit.
Each candidate must complete ten hours voluntary work in a sports setting and also a First Aid qualification.
