Year 9 French students (Holly, Lily, Lucy, Nicole, Katherine and Caitlin) accompanied Mrs Gamble on an outing to Hunloke Park Primary School on the 10th January to teach Year 5 and 6 pupils some basic French (animals and countries.)
This was the second visit to Hunloke Park. The students also visited in December to teach Year 3 and 4 some French Christmas vocabulary.
With the help of Year 11 and 13 Modern Foreign Language Ambassadors, 50 Year 9 students have been planning and preparing French, German and Spanish lessons and activities to teach in local primary schools as they work toward their Language Leader Award. The primary schools involved are:
- Sharley Park
- Hunloke Park
- Park House
- Stretton Handley
All students will take part in at least one primary visit, and more visits are planned in February and March.
Mrs Pippa Gamble said the students had worked really hard to deliver engaging activities:
"We have received some really positive praise from the primary schools who said their pupils really enjoyed the activities."
"I have been very proud to accompany the Year 9s on these visits; they have represented the school very well and this has been beneficial for their confidence."
"It is not easy to stand up in front of a class, and our students have done us proud. We have some budding primary school teachers amongst this year group! Well done to all."
