The sights and sounds of the sixties swung into Tupton as students and staff put on a production of Hairspray.
The show followed main character Tracy Turnblad (Charlotte Brough) a teenager whose dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance programme. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight, and meets a colorful array of characters. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show.
Audiences packed out the school's Richard Smith Hall across three nights and were rewarded with a songand dance spectacular - all backed by a live band!

"I personally think that hairspray was AMAZING. There was a great atmosphere. I went to see it with some friends and I could have stayed for hours more. But unfortunately it had to end! The cast were amazing actors and they stayed in character which is very important when doing drama. Just like the real film, I could watch it again and again. This was my first time seeing the Tupton school show and I now want to watch every year... so expect me back again next time."
