Tupton Hall students GCSE and equivalent course success
Congratulations to all Tupton Hall students that recently received their GCSE and equivalent course qualifications. After two years of hard work and commitment the vast majority of outgoing Year 11 students have achieved their target grades to confidently make the next step in their future. Whether it's on to Tupton Hall Sixth Form, following an apprenticeship route at college or training locally we extend our congratulations and wish them luck.
Overall student progress measures in English improved by 4% whilst progress in maths remained consistently high in line with national performance. Like many local schools the percent of students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths fell slightly by 3% to 53%. This reflected the national trend as marking in English, Maths and science was tightened. Many foundation subjects showed impressive rises in A*-C pass rates.
Headteacher Andrew Knowles said, "We extend congratulations to this wonderful year group who worked hard together with staff to achieve these grades. The government has clearly signalled an end to year on year rises in pass rates as marking and grade boundaries continue to be tightened. Our students should be justly proud of what they have achieved and we hope they continue to aspire, learn and achieve in the future."
