Year 7 students took to the school field to take on many different team building exercises. Organised by Miss Parker, this was seen by many as a ‘great opportunity’ for the students during a Learning for Life lesson.
Each form had a leader to guide them around the many events spread around the field. They tackled tasks such as a team obstacle course and tug of war. These physical tasks put the students to the test to see who could arrive victorious.
Other tasks took skill and mental ability, such as the drainpipe challenge which required students to work together to travel a ball through a selection of pipes. Another was the hot potato challenge that saw the Year 7s to work together to keep a ball from falling from the parachute they held together.
Affterwards, form tutors explained that the session ‘made a change’ from the students learning indoors during the warm weather. The students said it was ‘lots of fun’ and that they ‘would like to do it again’. It’s no surprise to see so many happy, but tuckered out, faces as they went to enjoy a well deserved lunch.
