Olympic athletes Jessica Ennis-Hill and Nicola Adams were spotted by A Level Sports Studies students from Tupton Hall School when they visited the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Sheffield.
Students spent the morning touring the elite sport facilities and were lucky enough to see the Olympians training - they even managed to get a photo of heptathlete Jess on the track!
"We met with one of the team GB boxing coaches and got to stand in the actual London 2012 boxing ring where Nicola Adams won her gold medal," said course leader Mrs Neville. "It was a great morning spent in truly inspiring sports facilities."
The EIS is a multi-sport facility which features a 200m indoor running track and several other sporting arenas, as well as a gym and extensive sports medicine facilities. It is the training venue of choice for elite athletes and sports teams, and was used by the British Athletics team to train for the London 2012 Olympics.
