In Drama students have the opportunity to not only learn about playwrights and study different genres of theatre including theatre from around the world, but they also develop essential life skills in the very act of participating in a Drama lesson. We encourage creativity and reflection, as these are central to our curriculum. Students learn to problem solve and take risks by working in groups to prepare performances as well as self-evaluating and being focused when working on individual tasks. Drama is also the perfect medium whereby students can express themselves in a safe environment and develop their speaking and listening skills and therefore increase their confidence in speaking publicly.
Our students achieve excellent exam results and year after year continue to produce work of a very high standard. The tradition of extra-curricular performance at Tupton Hall is a strong one which we continue with pride each year. We produce two shows a year, catering for students of all levels and ages. The shows are always popular, selling out each year – a testament to our dedicated and talented students.
(The current Edexcel GCSE course finishes in the summer 2017. New students starting GCSE in September 2016 will be following a new examination board- details to be confirmed)
