Y9 Students Fundraise for Macmillan
Students have have been getting into the fundraising spirit, taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to help improve the lives of people living with cancer in the UK.
A group of Y9 students chose to take part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee morning on Friday 27 September; it is the charity’s biggest fundraising event with people across the UK holding a coffee morning to raise much needed funds.

Students; Lauren, Catherine, Jennifer, Chelsea, Kenzie, Olivia, Jessica, Jessica, Caomi, Jasmine, Charlotte and Maddie planned the event from start to finish, taking orders from fellow students and staff. The team then baked the cupcakes on the Wednesday, iced them on the Thursday and delivered all orders on Friday. The remaining naughty delights were sold to students and staff at lunch time with the table practically empty after 10 minutes!
The fundraising project was a great way for the students to make a positive contribution to society following the school ethos; to aspire, learn, achieve. In total the students raised over £240 for Macmillan Cancer Charity and are already planning their next event.
