Celebration Evening

Celebration Evening

Songs, certificates and special guests helped to celebrate another successful year at Tupton Hall School. The annual Celebration Evening for Years 7 – 10 was held at Chesterfield’s prestigious Winding Wheel theatre.

Around 500 students and their families came along to mark the occasion and recognise individual and collective achievement.

Guest speakers and ex-students Lily Hammond and Josh Hough gave inspirational talks to kick off the night. Lily has progressed on to become an esteemed artist, gaining national recognition for her work. Josh is currently at university and combines his studies with representing Great Britain in rifle shooting.

Award winners were welcomed onto the stage to receive their certificates, watched and applauded by supportive family and friends..

Musical interludes punctuated the proud evening with student performances from Tupton Hall's very own a capella group The Tuptones, flutist Indira Khine-Short and duo Daisy Hinde & Lucy Johnson.

Headteacher Mr Andrew Knowles said: “We believe in rewarding student excellence, positive attitudes, progress in learning and contributions to the wider community.”

"This evening recognises our students’ efforts, the support of their families, the hard work of our staff and the commitment of our governors and wider community in contributing to the life and success of Tupton Hall School."

"This year has been a challenging one for many reasons for our school, community and wider nation. We have paused on many occasions to remember those that have lost their lives or been affected by cruel acts or disasters. Leaving the European Union and faltering political direction means that life for our young people has become even more complicated and uncertain."

"Never has there been a greater time for us all to build resilience and strength in our young people. We embrace the need to continue to strive for the very best for our students, families and communities that we serve."

"Our students are our future and this evening we will celebrate the fact that many will go on to become leaders and fine community members in the years to come."

Congratulations to all of our award winners and thank you to everyone who came along and celebrated with us.
