Celebrations got under way on 14th August as Tupton Hall School Sixth Form students collected their long awaited A Level results.
It is a record year for the school as our students have
achieved an exceptional pass rate of 99.24 per cent – the highest in the
The greatest leap has been the number of A* - B grades
achieved at more than 56 per cent – a 13 per cent increase on last year.
Students have also secured the highest number of top
grades in the school’s history. More than 100 A* and A grades were awarded,
representing more than a quarter of this year’s total A Level qualifications.
Many Tupton Hall students are heading to universities
across the country to continue their education, studying everything from
medicine to motorsport engineering.
“It has been a truly remarkable year,” said Mrs
Charlotte Burton, Head of Post 16 at Tupton Hall.
“The students demonstrated a fantastic attitude towards
their learning – they showed commitment to their studies and have been rewarded
with an outstanding set of results. The school is very proud of them.”
“Tupton Hall School Sixth Form is a true community of
students. They have worked together as a team, they supported each other and
established excellent relationships with each other and the staff.”
“They were a fantastic group of young people to get to
know and it was an absolute pleasure seeing them achieve these outstanding
results. They truly deserve all praise and credit for everything they have
Headteacher Mr Andrew Knowles said: “We are delighted
that this cohort of students have realised their potential and now have the
qualifications to open doors to university places, apprenticeship placements
and further education and training opportunities.”
“The hard work of our wonderful students, our highly
skilled staff and supportive parents and families has secured record breaking
results for the school.”
Student George Beard, who was one of the highest
achieving Year 13s with three A*s, said: “I’m really pleased with my results
and can’t wait to start uni in Newcastle studying Law.”
"I’ve been at Tupton Hall School since Year 7. It’s
been really interesting – never boring. There’s a great atmosphere in the sixth
form. Everyone is really nice and friendly, the support is amazing and the
standard of teaching is excellent.”
Ryan Keeling also achieved the top grades in his year.
He came to Tupton Hall School Sixth Form from Tibshelf School. He is now
heading to the University of Leeds where he will study Geography.
Ryan said: “I was really happy when I looked online this
morning to see I’d got into uni. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Tupton Hall
Sixth Form. I came from quite a small school so this was a good stepping stone
to moving up to university. It’s been great.”
