Ukulele music rang out across Sharley Park Community Primary School as students from Tupton Hall School held a music workshop.
Students Abi Turner, Lewis May, Sam Booker and Charlotte Brough are currently in a band called Lost Generation. They spent two hours performing to the Year 6 class and answered questions on what it's like to be in a band.
Then it was time to teach the class a song on the ukulele, assisted by Tupton Hall music teacher Miss Wragg.
Sharley Park's headteacher Mrs Thornhill even came down to watch the performance and was very impressed. "She said that she couldn't believe what she saw and that it was inspiring for both her and the kids," said Miss Wragg.
The workshop was the finishing touch to a band skills topic being studied by the Year 6s. It also followed a successful week for the Lost Generation band. On Saturday 21st March they travelled to Birmingham with two other Tupton Hall music acts to perform at the Music For Youth regional Rock and Pop Festival. They performed on a professional stage alongside other bands from across the country.
Miss Wragg added: "I was so proud of the students. This term they have rehearsed with me for two-and-a-half hours a week. Their dedication has really paid off."
